小6/公文：英語KII11のMy Cross-cultural Experiences

公文英語が順調に進んでいます。英語KII11からは、C.W.NicolのMy Cross-cultural Experiences。本日が初日でしたが、以下の内容でした。すらすらと音読できているので、難易度的にもちょうど良い模様です。

Like most people, I easily forget my failures. It is difficult to think of any particular instances of failure in Japan but I do remember an experience with persimmons.

When I first came to this country, I recall going to a friend’s house and being offered a persimmon.

I’d never eaten a persimmon before because we don’t have them in Britain or in Canada. My friend’s mother peeled the persimmon and gave it to me to eat but I thought it was the worst thing I’d ever tasted in my life. I’d been taught that if you begin to eat something you must eat it all however, so I ate the whole persimmon.
